Covering every square inch of the landmass linking the extreme north of the main island of Hokkaido with the islands within sight of Taiwan in the south, Prefectural pride pervades many aspects of life; people, politics, food, history and local produce.
Each is unique in its own way, of interest for a plethora of reasons and well worth checking out.
