It’s all over now but the G8 Summit in Hokkaido a while ago brought out an odd reaction in the domestic security services-not least this paper covering a bin in a public area at a station in Tokyo and replicated throughout the nation. It was only in place till the summit ended according to the dates shown and (presumably) anyone with inhumane intentions involving bins a la the old Irish IRA trick of popping a bomb into a bin in a park etc must just have had to wait till the flimsy paper was removed. What an odd world!
