Postal System

Postal system

-could do better!-For a nation as efficient in so many things as Japan, the postal system is pretty scary. Letters posted ‘first class’ often taking 2 or 3 days to arrive - at addresses in the same city - service in the actual branch pretty slow and lethargic etc. Fortunately, a year or so ago, it was decided to privatise the PO which has seemingly raised staff service levels in the branches. Letters are still pretty slow and the best option, sometimes the cheapest, is still sending things via the private services on offer through convenience stores. Oh - and don’t even start me on the PO banking and hours of their oftentimes 9-5 opening hours of their cash machines. (Saturday afternoons and Sundays off of course!)
