Manners Lacking
June 9th, 2008 by Ken ElmIn consideration of its blind population, Japan is a very advanced nation. Yellow ‘lined but bumpy’ strips cover pavements (sidewalks for you linguistically challenged folk) the nation over apparently. Oftentimes they end in circular bumps easily distinguishable underfoot - and then the visually impaired are on their own - with the use of a stick of course.
Sadly, as this picture from Ichikawa in Chiba will show - too few cyclists have the manners they were born with.
Yellow strip ends - blind woes begin!
