J-girls!
April 11th, 2008 by Ken Elm
Thankfully the local girls I know here are a shade better looking than this beast - a judgement I cannot extend to the ‘calendar challenged’ individuals working at the company cafeteria in the basement of my office building!
Yet this beast works not behind a till, growling at the price she expects to be paid for our daily fare-cum-slop.
No, this beast represents one of the many masks seen in traditional Noh plays - a kind of refined artistic expression that books tell me led to the arguably more famous Kabuki.
Be it good, bad or ugly, I have no idea, but with a ticket to an upcoming show across town, check back in late May to see the post mortem - a la Ken and his keitai - if they let me take pics that is!
